Alimex has five processing plants throughout Chile, one located in Vallenar, two in Santiago (Colina and Lo Espejo), Concepción and Quellón. An average of 500 people work in those places.
Vallenar : Brown Seaweed Plant
This plant has drying fields and dry and wet grinding lines that allow producing brown seaweed of different granulometry. It has a capacity of 20,000 tons per year.
Colina: Red Seaweed Plant It’s the main red seaweed plant. Red seaweed is dried and baled in it. It has a productive capacity of 4,000 tons per year.
At the central offices, the company’s business and financial management is developed.
Concepción: Canned and Frozen Products Plant It is the main processing plant in the company. It has got a certified quality and modern equipments that allows it to produce canned and frozen seafood and fish. It has an annual production capacity of 200,000 boxes of cans and 1,500 tons of frozen products.
• Quellón: Artificial Drying of Red Seaweed
Located in the south of Chiloé, this plant performs modern drying of seaweed, which allows reducing their humidity so they can be processed afterwards at the Coronel and Colina plants.
